Where a yard deodorizer helps

  • Patios and concrete pads

Soak up urine and smell worst in summer heat.

  • Gravel and mulch dog runs

    Trap odor between the stones.

  • Artificial turf

Needs regular treatment so the backing doesn't hold smells.

  • Favorite spots

Along the fence line, where dogs go again and again.

The product we use

We only use a product whose label allows use where pets play, and we follow the label for drying time before dogs go back out.

The deodorizer is an add-on, so it rides along with a dog poop pickup service visit or a one-time cleanup. It isn't a replacement for picking up the waste itself.

An add-on to scooping

Add-on

  • Add-on, not a stand-alone service: our core work is dog waste scooping and yard care; deodorizing rides along on a visit.
  • Label directions first: we only use a product whose label allows use where pets play, and we follow its drying time.
  • Clean tools: we clean our tools between yards.

Ask us for the product name and label before your first treatment.

How yard deodorizing works with scooping

Yard deodorizing only works on a clean yard. We scoop first, then treat the spots that hold odor, so the treatment reaches the surface instead of sitting on top of waste. Most lingering dog odor in a yard comes from urine soaking into concrete, gravel, mulch and turf backing, not from the piles alone. That's why picking up waste and deodorizing are two separate jobs.

How often you need deodorizing depends on the area. A sunny patio in July may want treatment every visit, while a grass yard may only need it on the dog's favorite corner now and then. We suggest a rhythm after a few visits, and you can change it by text at any time.

Where yard odor builds up

Odor rarely comes from the whole yard. It collects in a few places, and yard deodorizing works best when we know which ones:

  • Concrete patios and dog pads

Where urine soaks into the surface and bakes in the sun.

  • Gravel and pea-gravel runs

Which hold moisture between the stones.

  • Artificial turf

Where urine can sit in the backing and infill.

  • Mulch beds and shaded corners

That stay damp and rarely dry out.

  • Kennels and dog runs

Where dogs spend long stretches in a small space.

On the first visit we ask you to point out the spots you notice most, then treat those areas each time the add-on is booked.

Odor control between visits

  1. Hose down concrete on hot days to dilute urine before it bakes in.

  2. Rake gravel and mulch runs so damp spots can dry out.

  3. Rinse and brush artificial turf following the turf maker's care guide.

  4. Keep up with scooping. No odor treatment can keep up with waste left in the yard.

If a smell keeps coming back in one spot even with regular treatment, tell us. It can point to drainage, a low spot that stays wet, or an area the dogs use more than you realized.

Yard deodorizer questions

Another question? Call or text us.

Is yard deodorizing the same as fertilizing?

No. Deodorizing targets odor on the surfaces your dogs use. It isn't a lawn fertilizer or weed treatment.

Which product do you use?

A pet-area product used to the label's directions. Ask and we'll send you the product name and label.

How long do dogs stay off the treated area?

That depends on the product label. We follow the label's drying time and tell you when dogs can go back out.

Can I add deodorizer only some weeks?

Yes. Text us before your scoop day and we'll add it or skip it.

Does it cover the whole yard?

It's meant for the spots that hold odor, not the whole lawn. Tell us which areas bother you most.
